Miss Universe Contest, successfully held in Thailand

Prime minister Tak Shin evaluated the last "54th Miss Universe Contest" held for three weeks in Bangkok successful. He emphasized that through this contest which attracted a billion viewers from 170 countries, Thailand was able to show it has recovered fully from the Tsunami and praised how the new Miss Universe, Natalie Glebova, will be a great public affairs ambassador of the country.

When Miss Thailand, Miss Chanapon fell out in the preliminary contest choosing 15 contestants, Thailand citizens held hope on Miss Norway, who is half Thai. The surprising fact is that Miss Indonesia, who joined the contest three days before, made it to the preliminary contest choosing 15 contestants. Indonesia has not participated in the contest being a Muslim country but this time Miss Indonesia wore a swimming suit for the contest.

Miss Glebova, chosen as Miss Universe out of 81 contestants, is Miss Canada, born in Russia and she was the only one not from a Latin country among the 5 finalists. It is said that she acquired a high score for a clever answer in the final vote competing with five other contestants. Glebova has started her busy schedule after the contest, what with appearing on TV and attending official events. The Miss Universe has happily claimed that the hardest thing to do is giving out autographs as the new Miss Universe, Glebova said to the press.
