“Bird”, Thailand’s national singer with Tenderness...

Thongcahi MCIntyre is an
actor/singer who has been adored by the Thai people for the last 20 years. Born
in a family of musical background on December 8, 1958, he loved to sing since
childhood. So, while working at the Thai Bank of Agriculture and Agriculture
Co-operatives after graduation, he worked as a model and actor in
commercials.
He is more widely known by his nickname,
“Bird.” He started to gain recognition after winning three
awards (Best Singer Award, Special Award, and Judge’s Special Choice) at the
1983 Siam Music Foundation Contest.
Three years later, he captured the hearts of Thai people with success of his
first album “Hassai Ssailom Ssonglao”. His tender
voice and friendly character won him immense popularity from the Thai public. He
showed his super star quality with every album including “Boomerang”,
“Bburikinu”, “Ppuncha” wining the first place in music charts. His albums were
always new and fresh, and has unique qualities that never makes its sound
outdated even long after the album was released.
Bird also received wide acclaim for his acting talent after starring in a
number of popular TV dramas and movies including “Koo Gum”, and
“Tuailaklaeppukppan”.
He was recently selected as an honorary ambassador to boost the Thai tourism
industry at the downturn due to the Tsunami’s damage. He participated in
numerous events and appeared on TV commercials with cute characters. With his
